How the TAIPA application process works

Only minimum liability limits are available through TAIPA. Physical damage coverage is not available.

01

Apply through a certified producer

See an insurance agent and ask if they are certified through TAIPA. Eligibility requires rejection by two companies within the last 60 days.

02

Submitted through EASi

Certified producers submit Private Passenger or Commercial/Public applications for their applicants using the EASi website.

03

Mailed & assigned

The producer mails the signed application and down payment to TAIPA within one business day. TAIPA processes it and assigns it to a company.

04

Company services the policy

The assigned company handles everything from that point — policy issuance, billing and payments, renewals, and commissions.

Coverage & limits

Only minimum limits are available through TAIPA

TAIPA exists to make the auto bodily injury and property damage liability insurance required by the Texas Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act available to eligible applicants — no more, no less.
